PryorCV defines himself as a “working artist”. This NYC Small Story began while walking along Houston avenue (just across from the Angelika theatre), my eyes were drawn to an array of small painted cardboard squares layed out on the sidewalk. On the corner of Houston and Broadway, you will meet Pratt University art school graduate Pryor. He calls himself a “working artist” as opposed to street vendor or pop-up store. While in the homeless shelter, he saw an opportunity in the excess cardboard. He revived his love of painting and used the cardboard around him as a cavas and began making art. It all started in 2008…Its a trying but optimistic story.
MY SMALL STORY
Over the past 15 years I have traveled, filmed and and acquired a library of over 6,000 hours. From the recording studio in NYC to South African Safari’s, I have filmed my conversations and watched my library grow. On April 26, 2010, I launched www.MySmallStroy.com in NYC as a way to share insight. My Small Story contextualizes life through a collection of unscripted filmed conversations with small businesses, entrepreneurs, artists and everyday people filmed, edited & shared weekly by LaRon Batchelor – a videographer/ethnographer with 15 years experience filming conversations in 4 continents.
